Sweetie Belle ran out of the school as soon as the bell rang announcing end of the lessons of the day. Both Scootaloo and Apple Bloom were busy that day – Rainbow Dash was finally convinced to help Scootaloo with her flying ("PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PPPPLLLLEEEEAAASSSSEEEEEE RAINBOW DASH!") and Applejack asked Apple Bloom to help her around the farm for the rest of the day. As much as Sweetie Belle loved her friends, she was glad to have an afternoon for herself. They could be a bit overwhelming at times. The whole Cutie Mark Crusaders thing was great, yet tiring and Sweetie Belle was looking forward to an afternoon of relaxation.

As she ran home, she was daydreaming of the relaxing bath, with lots of bubbles and scented soaps and the warm water relaxing her muscles. A broad smile appeared on her face as she ran faster.

She was so caught up in her daydreaming that she did not realise that somepony was in her path. Only when she collided with them, she broke out of her daydreams and realised what had just happened. By then, of course, it was too late.

"Ow! Sorry!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed as she rolled off the pony she crashed into.

Groaning, she opened her eyes and looked to the side to see a colt around her age sprawled on the ground beside her, a guitar lying next to him.

Sweetie Belle got up, while not taking her eyes off the colt, as he didn't move since she crashed into him. She wearily walked up to him and nudged his side with her hoof. "Hey, are you okay?" She asked.

"Uhh..." She heard the colt groan. "M'fine..." He somehow managed to scramble back into a standing position and picked up the guitar.

"Sorry for running into you," Sweetie Belle laughed nervously. "I wasn't looking where I was going. I'm Sweetie Belle, by the way."

"No worries, I shouldn't be standing in the middle of the road either." He grinned, "I'm Melody Weaver."

Sweetie blinked owlishly. "Melody Weaver? That's a rather girlish name don't you think?" She giggled as she got a good look at him.

Melody Weaver was a unicorn; taller than her and quite skinny and lanky. His coat was of pure white, with dark grey hooves. He had grey freckles on his cheeks and large, crimson eyes. Melody Weaver's mane was a longish mess of grass green hair and his tail was cut to be mid-length like Big Macintosh's. He had his cutie mark already, a simple black music note. Sweetie Belle thought that he looked a bit rough, but for some reason it suited him.

"Girly? Says the one that is called Sweetie Belle!" Melody Weaver retorted.

"Hey! I am a girl!" Sweetie Belle shouted at him.

"Really? Could've fooled me." Melody Weaver snorted and was about to walk off.

"Don't walk away from me!" Sweetie Belle, now very unhappy with this colt's manners, shouted after him. "I still haven't finished with you!"

Melody Weaver stopped walking. He turned to face Sweetie again, this time having a daring smile on his face. His crimson eyes had a mischievous glint in them and Sweetie couldn't help but keep staring at them. They were so pretty and vibrant and...

"What'cha gonna do then?" He asked, adjusting the way the guitar was strapped to his saddlebags.

Sweetie Belle was blushing furiously by then, partially because she felt slightly attracted to the unicorn colt and partially because she felt so angry at him making fun of her. Her fore-hooves were digging into the earth of the road and her her face was turned into a mix of confusion and scowling. "I'll prove to you that I am a girl!" She finally exclaimed.

Melody Weaver laughed at her, and it made her even more furious. No one laughs at Sweetie Belle! Ever!

"How are you going to do that?" Melody Weaver walked closer to her.

"Well, what would convince you?" Sweetie huffed at him.

Melody Weaver looked thoughtful for a minute. He seemed to look right through Sweetie Belle and then at his guitar. Then at Sweetie Belle. Guitar. Sweetie Belle. He smiled broadly.

"Well, only fillies have girly voices. So how about you sing something?" He asked, while taking his guitar off his back with magic.

"But-but-" Sweetie Belle stuttered. She couldn't possibly sing! Especially in front of some stranger colt who insulted her! She was about to refuse and trot off when she saw Melody Weaver's expression which clearly said 'What? Scared?'. Stopping an irritated noise at the back of her throat she trotted onto the grass and sat down. "Fine! What do you want me to sing?"

Melody Weaver grinned and sat down next to her. "Whatever you feel goes with the music." He closed his crimson eyes and started to play a simple, slow melody.

Sweetie Belle, too, closed her eyes and attempted to feel the music. It was rather nice and calming, a lovely tune. Sweetie tried to feel the emotions in it and began to sing.

"Out on my own, I was
Trying to find my life's meaning.
It was a summer of good and bad,
Mistakes and the fun we had,
I will, never forget it.

In search of who we are,
We ran across the fields,
In search of who I was,
I climbed every mountain and hill.

I refused to believe,
That its only a matter of time.
I took my future in my hooves,
I packed my bag, I said goodbye,
I promised only to be a while.
And I went to find out who I was..."

Sweetie Belle stopped singing and let the melody drift off to an end.  When it stopped completely, she opened her eyes to see Melody Weaver's reaction. He seemed surprised, yet pleased at what he heard.

Smugly, she smirked at him. "So?"

"You were great. Have you ever thought about a singing career?" He asked.

"Huh? Well, um...Not really...I only sing for my friends and sister." Sweetie blushed and looked away.

"Well you should. You have a great voice. And that's coming from somepony who will be the greatest guitarist in all of Equestria!" Melody Weaver threw his hoof in the air, with a determined look on his face. The way he looked made Sweetie couldn't help but crack a smile.

"Well, you've got a long way to go, Melody." She smiled at him.

"So do you, but I bet we can be the best musicians in all of Equestria!"

"Eh?" Sweetie asked in confusion. "I didn't even decide for myself yet!"

"Well, your flank decided for you, Sweetie Belle."

In shock, Sweetie Belle turned her head to see her flank. It was true. On her beautiful, once blank, flank, there was a cutie mark of a pink music note with three hearts around it. Sweetie Belle couldn't help but stare at it in awe, not believing that the time for her to get her cutie mark has finally come. And have it to do with her singing no less!

"Well, I guess I have no choice then." She smiled, "But that thought doesn't seem to make me less happy."

Melody Weaver grinned and stood up. "Well then," He started. "I have to go now, my parents and I are moving to Manehattan and I have to pack."

Sweetie Belle thought that her heart shattered. She felt a horrible pang in her heart, which she didn't understand. Why? Because this colt she just met was leaving? It couldn't be, Sweetie Belle thought, since she hardly knows him.

"But, Sweetie Belle." He continued. "Lets meet again someday and play a concert together."
And all she could say was. "Okay"

XXXXXXXXXXX Some years later.

Sweetie Belle walked towards the stage that was set up in Ponyville for the annual charity concert. As she was trotting down the streets, many ponies greeted her and asked for her autograph or wished her luck for the concert. In the years since she got her cutie mark, Sweetie Belle's popularity has risen greatly, and as a young mare, she was famous for her beauty and talent alike.

Dressed in her sister Rarity's finest creation, Sweetie Belle arrived by the stage. Her good friend of many years Apple Bloom was running everywhere and making final touch-ups to the stage. She too, found her talent not long after Sweetie Belle and was quickly followed by Scootaloo who was up in the clouds practising with the Wonderbolts (now including Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo herself) for their performance after the concert.

Smiling broadly, Sweetie Belle walked up on stage and looked around. There were other musicians, like Sapphire Shores walking around the stage and some could be seen backstage preparing  in their own way.

"Sweetie Belle?"

Sweetie froze. She remembered that voice, even though she hasn't seen its owner for many years. Yes, she followed his fame and even had all of his band's albums at home, yet they haven't seen each other since that faithful day when she got her cutie mark. She turned, only to see him.

Her heart seemed to have forgotten to beat in her chest at the sight of him. He was taller, a lot taller than before. He seemed a bit broader but still skinny as ever. His grass green mane was as messy as ever and his tail was longer. He wore a black leather waistcoat and a pair of red-tinted sunglasses.

"Melody Weaver?" Sweetie Belle whispered. "Wow, you've definitely changed. Nice waistcoat."

"Thanks Sweetie, you're not so bad yourself." He said and walked toward her. "How has live been treating you?"

Sweetie Belle smiled and walked up to the microphone. " Do you still remember what we promised that day?"

Melody Weaver's horn glowed with magic and within seconds, his guitar was in his hooves.
"How could I forget?"

"Out on my own, I was
Trying to find my life's meaning....."
Here is some Sweetie Belle x OC goodness. I couldn't help but write this, and although its not my best piece of writing, I love how it turned out.
And yes, I have wrote the lyrics. They're not the best because I fail at music D:
Its not spellchecked in anyway so excuse my mistakes.
Hope you like!
Feedback would be appreciated :) x
